For some students, UBC is where we study, live, and work. Some of our kids were born and raised in Acadia Park. During the pandemic, some rent relief has been provided for students but not to those living on campus. We don’t belong to the BC Residential Tenancy Act.
We have received some support from UBC, but unfortunately, the need is bigger. Many will need to pay an extra term due to the two months of #StayHome advice. Some are returning to their home countries.11
